Join our Volunteers

There are many opportunities to Volunteer before, during, and after Camp! Please take that first step and contact Shelley Horel, 801 870-9454, rochellehorel@gmail.com

We will have 50 or more children at Camp July 31-August 4. We prefer to have our volunteers available all of those days to help as camp counselors, grandma and grandpa’s, support staff, dream team bed time readers, and more.

Everything! Counselors are the most important people at Camp besides the kids! A counselor is assigned to 1 or 2 children and is the person who has the biggest impact on their children at Camp. It is a big job, but we provide lots of support to make it a rewarding time for you.

No problem! How about being willing to show unconditional love to the kids and other volunteers by being part of our support staff? We have many needs, from helping with activities, games, crafts, music, drama, Bible time, and more. We also need professionals  (nurses, social workers, therapists) who can step in and help when a child needs it most.

Absolutely! While we need counselors and many of our staff to be at Camp the entire time, others may help by being at Camp every morning, every afternoon, or every evening.

If you can only help during a single day, then you might want to help with the Thursday birthday party or Friday welcome home dinner. You do not need to complete an application to help with the party or dinner.

For new volunteers, training this year will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (8575 700 E Sandy) and is Saturday June 10 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Returning volunteers will join everyone at noon. If it is not possible for you to attend this training, then let Shelley Horel (801 870-9454; rochellehorel@gmail.com) know as soon as possible. Since makeup training opportunities are limited, we encourage you to plan to attend training if at all possible.

No, please fill out the online application as it expedites processing of your application. In addition, the national RFK program has some additional language to insure the children’s safety and we want to make sure you read that carefully.
